Time Traveller

From primary school pals, to high school rat bags, to the creative and exciting powerhouse they are today.

Melbourne, punk-rock larrikins Birdhouse have released the music video, for their biting new single Time Traveller, which sees the boys angrily tripping through time and chores!

The music video is comprised of two scenes cut together to convey the feeling of being lost, and frustrated through time.

The first scene, two band members attempt to set up chairs while the others disrupt them.

In the second scene; vocalist Danny Smith sings to the camera while the other band members fulfil mundane chores and activities in the background.

"The video is sped up to show the character speeding through time, and accomplishing more than three minutes would realistically allow them, thus travelling through time," said Smith.

The single is about pent up emotions and how they burst forward through people’s lives and that is demonstrated in not only the lyrics but the musical make up too.

"Time Traveller is a rollicking, punch song about rage, frustrations and confusion across time. The track's name came mainly from the off-beat, dragging verse riff, that made us think of being dragged through years," said Smith.

Time Traveller is an emotive and expressive song for Birdhouse but when it really comes down to it the boys are just here for a good time!

"All that said, the song is just something to punk out to!" said drummer, Jamie O'Sullivan.

This is the second release we've heard from the boys in 2017 after starting the year with indie-rock tune Sweet sporting a dash of punk attitude.

The four-piece have gone from primary school pals, to high school ratbags, to the creative and exciting Birdhouse powerhouse they are today.
