Blunted in the bomb shelter. Hey Baby's! give us their top 5 blaz'n songs.

Hey Baby!

After months of gigging around Brisbane, impressing many with their refreshing take on fast-paced garage rock thanks to their pop sensibilities and chaotic live shows comes the release of their debut single. Lyrically, their rollicking debut single is nonchalant commentary on the legality of marijuana in most countries and a tongue-in-cheek ode to their recreational drug of choice. Musicology finds out the bands top five tracks for getting blunted in the bomb shelter.

Kacper Majchrowski - Lead vocals, guitar

Proxina Estacion: Esperanza - Manu Chao

I'm gonna cheat with an album cause any song on this whole album is a must listen to, no matter what state you’re in! The combination of singing in three different languages, and the mixture of feel good reggae melodies with random noise interferences like a ringing telephone or radio static makes for a really fun and interesting experience; I feel like I hear something new each listen. Also the songs are just so simple and innocent, it reminds me of a tune you’d make up in your head as a kid. Each song is beautiful and catchy, I don't know what he’s singing about most of the time but I still always find myself trying to sing along. And if I can only pick one... which would be hard.. It'd have to be Me Gustas Tu.

Daniel Chlonta - Bassist

I Just Wanna Die - FIDLAR

Drum machine, with poppy "woos" will always make me feel good! Particularly when juxtaposed with depressing lyrics. The music video is also dope so check it out!

Magnolia - Gang of Youths

This song just takes me on a journey. No matter how crappy I'm feeling about life, this song seems to make me feel like everything is going to be okay. Also David's vocals do things to me. Yeah, Lit.

Sam Wilson - Lead Guitar

You Only Live Once - The Strokes

If we're talking about all-time favourites then I have to go with YOLO by The Strokes. The diversity but simplicity in it is epic, and it's still so fucking catchy. Ima jump in the car and go road tripping now to it. Feel free to jump in if you see me!

Jaeger Brodie - Drummer

Crimson and Clover - Tommy James and The Shondells

The extended version with the slide guitar solo that they don't play on the radio, this song has been there for me during all of the hardest times I've experienced over the last 5 years or so - never fails to lift my spirits.
