Tesse
Tesse, the collaborative new project from Sydney singer-songwriter Tom Stephens, is submerged in the shadowy blue of concealment and reflection in their nocturnal new video for 'I'll Tell You in the Morning', the first single to be lifted from their forthcoming LP 'How It All Unfolds'.
Directed by friend and visual collaborator Nick Mckk (Julia Jacklin, Noire), the clip was premiered by Pilerats who describes it as "a moody, almost noir-ish affair that slowly swirls into some kind of neon fever dream."
'I’ll Tell You In The Morning’ is the debut single under Stephens' new moniker Tesse and explores the contrasting complexities and monotony within an unstable, long-term relationship. Frigid, full-toned ebbs of acoustic and baritone guitar provide the framework for Stephens’ intimate lyrical content.
With a new album in development and supporting band in tow (including Cam Whipp on bass, Mon Ellis on guitar, Chris Long on keys and drummer Rob Turner) 2017 has seen Tesse light up the Golden Age Cinema stage as part of VIVID Festival, and leave a lasting impression at BIGSOUND in September.
Citing Neil Young, Wilco, Sun Kil Moon and Fleetwood Mac as influences, Tesse are now gearing up to release their debut full-length album How It All Unfolds in 2018.
